Where to find fatalities in krypt

We aim to set the record straight with some new details on the DLC characters, as well as give you some tips for unlocking stuff in the Krypt, even after numerous patches. Yet there are ways if you know how, that you can unlock the multiple different locations, heart chests, and even the head spikes.

Whether you're a newcomer or a veteran kombatant, there's plenty of things to know about Mortal Kombat Head on over to our hub for everything you need to know which you can find in our Mortal Kombat 11 guide.

If you want to get some hearts there are a few ways that you can do it. You can either go to our Mortal Kombat 11 farming guide to learn more about how to quickly obtain them. In this guide, we will give you the locations of the heart chests in the game that have been documented thus far, as well as locations of each of the items you'll need to explore the Krypt fully.

With the latest DLC now in the hands of the public, it seems that the Krypt is not the method for unlocking the new fatalities, brutalities, and costumes for Shang Tsung. Instead, it is using the Living Towers to hide away the vast majority of the stuff for Shang Tsung, and it can be safely assumed that the rest of the characters will work in the same way.

Luckily, the Living Towers have been toned down significantly in difficulty and these ones in particular are able to be completed with relative ease. You will need to manually control your character however, so some knowledge of combos and attacks may be necessary.

These towers will be available for a while, so you should have plenty of time to dive in and complete these challenges. The significant majority of the chests found within Krypt have randomised locations.

The loot of each individual chest is the same throughout, so you'll only get a certain combination of items.

For example, if a chest were to include two pieces of concept art for Jacqui Briggs, those two pieces of concept art would be found together in a different chest in someone else's game, but always together. The one exception to this are the Shao Kahn headed "Heart chests". These require you to smash the bonce off of them first, before spending a whopping hearts to open it. Hearts are by far the least common currency in the game, and NetherRealm Studios have recently made the announcement that they'll be increasing the amount of all currency, including hearts, earned.

Currently you'll get a few hearts at most for executing a Fatality or Brutality, so it's a bit of a grind. We have some tips on farming resources in our Mortal Kombat 11 farming guide.

You obtain resources by doing the following:. One of the major barriers you'll face is when it comes to unlocking special doors with Skeleton Keys. However there is a way to replenish chests reliably and one of the chests is guaranteed to contain a Skeleton Key per opening it. The chest at the Palace Entrance , contains a Skeleton Key every time you open it, meaning that you can use Kronika's Time Vault to repopulate the chests for Koins per chest.

This includes all the soul chests that have been opened, but not the heart chests. Some of the best treasure to unlock is hidden away. To unlock the Throne Room, you'll need to stick some heads on pikes, and to get these heads legitimately, you'll need to perform 50 fatalities or brutalities on specific characters in the Towers of Time. This can be quite the grind, so the best recommendation is to combine this with farming of materials with AI fighters.

More on those in our Mortal Kombat 11 farming and our Mortal Kombat 11 characters guides respectively. There was a method when the game first came out for unlocking these chests where you exploit a glitch as you load into the Krypt, however I have now tested this with the latest version and this is now confirmed to no longer work.

First and foremost, a massive shout out to the Mortal Kombat 11 Reddit community for joining forces with each other to make a massive list of unlockable items. In a list compiled by Reddit user "TheCursedTroll", this would have been a massive undertaking without them, so we'll summarise their findings in a table below. I'd recommend searching for the character to see where their corresponding chest is. Each one costs a whopping hearts to unlock.

Behind a skeleton key. This is the big room with lava and swinging pendulums. These ones are also fixed in place, but it's currently not as well researched. We've seen him show up in the first cave at the entrance to Goro's Lair, at the bottom of the Blood Pit and at the bridge on the top - and he's also been sighted among some trees in the Dead Woods, and in the ruined building below the Forge that's accessed by elevator.

If you find him while using the Blindfold, give him a smack with your War Hammer, and you'll be awarded a special Scorpion Character Skin and Soul Fragments!

If you put the Amulet of Earthrealm's Protector into the statue of Raiden and got the Thunder God's Shattered Staff, you'll know just what to put into the sealed door down the left path from the Torture Halls. Opening this door leads to a vast open cave filled with lava and swinging traps that can kill you instantly - but when has that ever stopped you. It's important to note that almost all chests you can find here aside from a Flaming Chest and Shao Kahn Chest all cost 15, Koins each.

The one exception to this rule is a chest down the first path on the left across a wooden platform. Evade the swinging chests and open the 20, Koin locked chest to find the Dragon Amulet Keystone - which we can use to finally open the door in the Mountain Pass just past the Forge.

If you take the right path from the Torture Halls, you'll eventually wind up in a Kytinn Hive. As luck would have it, the hive is still occupied by wandering spider creatures. The ones on the walls won't hinder you, and can be yanked for Koins.

However, there will also be one crawling around patrolling the hive, and will almost always make a beeline straight to you before lighting you on fire. In order to turn the tables on the Spider, Dashup to him and spam your War Hammer swing as soon as he's in range to explode the bug. You'll be rewarded with a unique Character Skin for D'vorah , but be sure to keep killing the spiders as they re-appear, as one will eventually drop a special Forge Item, the Ensorcelled Eye of a Dragon, which is one of three ingredients we'll need to make a Key Item.

When opening chests, you may also want to use a Vial of Protection found in random chests to make yourself invisible to the wandering spiders for a minute.

At the far end of the hive, be sure to look for one more of Shao Kahn 's chests, and another Flaming Chest. To find the Flaming Skull to douse the chest, look up at the statue. Now head down the path behind the chest to The Sacrifice, where the bodies of three Monks have been placed on a pyre between three giant statues and two locked chests. Pull the lever to lower a large cage, and inspect it to place the Heart of Blaze that you found in the room beyond the One Being's Door.

Once placed, you can pull the lever again to raise the cage and the heart back up - and ignite it by striking it with Scorpion 's Chain. This will solve the puzzle, and will unlock both gates to give you access to some chests. Put on the blindfold and you can spot a weak wall, and bust it down with the War Hammer to gain entrance to the Dojo. As you leave the Dojo, look against the wall opposite the gate to the Dojo, and put on your Blindfold.

As for the other gate, its leads to the cave that you need the Dragon Amulet for. Thankfully, if you explored that fiery cave using the Thunder God's Shattered Staff, you'll now have the Dragon Amulet, and can now open the door at the Mountain Pass, and also open the gate leading to the rest of the Courtyard Cave. From here, our path takes us down into a second Kytinn Hive.

Before heading down into the Kytinn Hive, be sure to make one last stop at the other Courtyard Cavern you opened using the dragon symbol puzzle past the Naknadan Shrine.

Now that you have Scorpion 's Chain, you can hit the two floating torches to lower the wooden bridge, and head across to find two set treasure chests and a Shao Kahn chest.

Back at the second courtyard cavern, at the bottom of the pit past the Dragon Door is part of another Kytinn Hive, along with a Shao Kahn chest and sealed gate where you can make out another patrolling spider. In order to get there, you need to solve a truly vexing puzzle. Inspect the three stone wheels and levers, and pull each of them until you see a slot facing front and center. You'll need three specific Key Items to place in these slots:.

Once you have all three Key Items, place them in the Elder God Puzzle to get 2, Koins and Soul Fragments as the gate is lifted to open up the rest of the hive. Now you can explore the next area and swat aside the Krypt Spiders or use a Vial of Protection to find several set chests that cost 15, Koins each. There's also a path leading to an outdoor balcony that overlooks the Blood Pit, and among the chests here you can find the Flaming Skull that's eluded you for so long.

Break it, and it will douse the Flaming Chest that's located on the wooden platforms above along the Mountain Pass, below the Naknadan Shrine.

The final place in the Krypt cannot be accessed by normal means - you will actually have to perform more activities outside of the Krypt. At the Warrior Shrine, there is a row of 25 spikes with character's faces displayed behind them. Note that certain characters that need to be unlocked or bought - like Frost and Shao Kahn - do not appear in the Klassic Tower until they are playable, so you will need to fight them elsewhere we recommend fighting Shao Kahn in Kotal Kahn 's character tower, in the second tower fight - just restart the tower after getting a Fatality.

Placing a Severed Head on a spike will unlock an associated chest full of that character's loot, and placing 10 heads will unlock the first of the doors at the Palace Entrance to Shang Tsung 's Throne Room and Treasure Cache.

This room, and the other two that open when more heads are placed, are full of some of the most expensive chests you can find. Almost all of them sit at 25, Koins each - including a hidden chest under the stairs - and contain character collections of intros, victories and gear. There's also a Flaming Chest in the center, but you can't open it quite yet.

Once you've placed at least 15 Severed Heads, the upstairs floor to the North Treasure Cache will open, revealing another room of expensive chests, the Flaming Skull for the chest below, and yet one more hidden chest that also contains set loot.

Unlike other areas, the Shao Kahn Chests and Flaming Chest don't have the usual loot, but contain more instances of what you'll find in the 25k chests. Finally, placing all 25 Severed Heads at the Warrior Shrine will unlock the door to the West Treasure Cache, containing the last of the expensive chests and a Shao Kahn Chest, where you can find yet more character chest and augments.

As an added bonus, be sure to look in the bottom left corner of the room for a lion statue that can only be seen while wearing a Blindfold. Mortal Kombat 11 Wiki Guide. Last Edited: 1 Aug pm.

Many of the Treasure Chests and Soul Vaults are randomized in what loot they contain, both in the amount of koins it costs to open, and what you may find inside. One player may find a 5, koin chest in a specific location with a new fatality inside, while another player may find a 10, koin chest in the same spot in their krypt with a completely different reward.

Because much of the Krypt it randomized, there is no way of telling what a chest contains. There are a few exceptions to this rule: regular chests in the Palace Entrance, Shao Khan Chests, Flaming Chests and certain chests found after solving puzzles appear to have the same reward and cost for all players who encounter them. You can also spot a green glow coming from the pond along the path that will requires 3, Soul Fragments to raise a chest from the depths, and the chest needs , Koins to open!

We recommend you wait until you find a Scavenger's Lockpick in other treasure chests to use - as it will waive the koin fee to open a single chest, and this is the most expensive one in the Krypt!

Note: The first time you give tribute, you will always receive a Key Item: Kronika 's Amulet, which is eventually needed as part of a puzzle much later in the Krypt. Because of this, do not give more than 1, Koins for your first tribute, or you'll be wasting money. The secret to collecting heads is that it won't be an quick and easy path. You'll have to perform 25 Fatalities on a specific character in Tower Battles in order to finally claim their head - which means it will take a long while before you can get them all.

However, each head you claim and put on a spike will unlock their corresponding loot chest - and you'll also eventually open up the door at the Palace Entrance to Shang Tsung 's Throne!
